As a Strategic Account Manager – Multi-Family, you will help grow Moen's Multi-Family business by building strategic partnerships with leading ownership groups, management companies, general contractors, and preferred distribution partners across the apartment, student housing, senior living, military housing, and single-family rental markets. You'll strengthen existing partnerships while identifying new opportunities to increase product specifications, expand market share, and position Moen solutions within high-profile new construction, renovation, and replacement projects.
In this collaborative, customer-focused role, you'll serve as a trusted strategic partner to some of the industry's most recognized organizations. Working closely with internal sales teams, channel partners, marketing, and product leadership, you'll help shape national Multi-Family growth strategies, influence key project decisions from specification through completion, and create long-term value for both Moen and our customers.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys developing executive-level relationships, navigating complex sales cycles, and collaborating across multiple teams to achieve shared goals. You'll combine strategic thinking with strong project management skills to identify growth opportunities, build trusted relationships with executive-level decision makers, and help strengthen Moen's long-term position within the Multi-Family market.

POSITION LOCATION: Candidates located within the Central or Western United States are preferred, with a preference for those based near Chicago, Atlanta, Washington, DC, the San Francisco Bay Area, Houston, or San Antonio, TX. Candidates should also have convenient access to a major airport to effectively support customer engagement and travel requirements. Internal FBIN candidates outside of these preferred markets are encouraged to apply.
This role requires up to 70% travel, including approximately 3 to 4 overnight trips per month. A company expense card is provided for approved travel-related expenses.
What you will be doing
- Build, strengthen, and expand strategic relationships with leading ownership groups, management companies, general contractors, and preferred distribution partners across the Multi-Family market.
- Increase product specifications and expand market share by promoting Moen's portfolio of solutions across targeted ownership groups, strategic accounts, and key project opportunities.
- Support the development and execution of strategic growth plans for assigned national accounts by identifying emerging opportunities, expanding customer relationships, and increasing Moen's presence across the Multi-Family market.
- Guide high-profile new construction, renovation, and replacement projects from specification through completion, partnering with internal teams and external stakeholders to support successful project execution.
- Partner with Marketing, Product Management, Channel Marketing, and Sales leadership to help shape strategic initiatives that support long-term Multi-Family growth.
- Collaborate with regional sales teams, Business Development Managers, and National Sales leaders to advance Multi-Family opportunities and increase project conversion.
- Partner with the field sales organization by sharing best practices, project opportunities, and customer strategies that help increase project conversion and strengthen customer relationships.
- Represent Moen at industry trade shows, Multi-Family conferences, networking events, and customer meetings to strengthen relationships and cultivate new opportunities.
- Monitor market trends, competitive activity, customer insights, and industry developments while providing insights and recommendations that help inform future business strategies.
- Utilize travel, promotional, and business development budgets responsibly to maximize customer engagement and return on investment.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years of progressive sales experience with a demonstrated track record of achieving business objectives and building strategic customer relationships.
- Experience managing national or regional strategic accounts within the Multi-Family, commercial construction, building products, or related industries.
- Experience developing long-term strategic partnerships that create mutual business value and customer growth.
- Demonstrated ability to influence executive-level stakeholders and navigate complex, multi-stakeholder sales environments.
- Strong relationship-building, networking, and communication skills with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving skills and a consultative approach to customer engagement.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects involving multiple internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and CRM platforms.
- Ability to travel up to 70%, including approximately 3 to 4 overnight trips per month.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience working within the Multi-Family industry, including apartment, student housing, senior living, military housing, single-family rental, or related commercial construction segments.
- Experience selling plumbing, kitchen and bath, building materials, or other specification-driven commercial products.
- Experience collaborating with architects, designers, ownership groups, distributors, general contractors, or commercial construction professionals.
- Knowledge of specification processes and commercial construction project cycles.
- Experience leading strategic customer initiatives or serving as a trusted advisor to national Multi-Family organizations.
Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is Hiring Pay Range: $90,000 USD - $130,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based sales incentive plan.
