📋 Description Lead stray light analysis of IR optics using FRED. Specify coatings and surface treatments to maximize transmission. Vendor management for external optical components. Drive R&D for advanced coatings and harsh-environment filters. Define metrology test plans (spectrophotometry, BRDF) for vendors. Collaborate with optomechanical teams to optimize baffles and layouts. 🎯 Requirements B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in engineering or physics, or equivalent. 5+ years in optical systems with stray light analysis, coatings, and procurement. Expertise in non-sequential ray tracing and stray light software (FRED, LightTools). Experience with thin-film coating design/analysis software (TFCalc, Essential Macleod, OptiLayer). Proven track record defining specs and managing external vendors from concept to delivery.
