📋 Description Own and operate the Modal for Academics program end-to-end Identify sponsorships with university courses, ML labs, and conferences Build relationships with professors and researchers at top universities Partner with AI research labs on compute grants and programs Track outcomes: grants, papers, citations, talks, and Modal adoption Represent Modal at academic conferences and research events 🎯 Requirements A PhD or research Master's from a strong ML/CS program or with a large compute component Evidence of operating beyond pure research (workshops, student groups, grants, internships) Strong written and verbal communication; able to represent Modal to professors Good judgment about what's worth pursuing; select high-impact opportunities Organized and self-directed; manages dozens of relationships Comfortable working in-person in a fast-paced startup
