Software Engineer, Data Platform

📋 Description

• Build and operate core data platform components (streaming systems, storage, tooling).
• Ingest, move, and serve data across Vercel using reusable infrastructure.
• Work with Kafka and streaming tooling for real-time data movement.
• Develop monitoring, alerting, and observability to prevent outages.
• Contribute to internal tools across ClickHouse, Tinybird, and Snowflake.
• Collaborate with senior engineers on architecture and platform-level decisions.

🎯 Requirements

• 1-3 years in data engineering, backend/infrastructure engineering, or related field
• Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related field
• Solid programming foundation (Python, Java, Scala, Go, or similar)
• Exposure to distributed systems and streaming (e.g., Kafka)
• Comfort with SQL and curiosity about storage/query systems (ClickHouse, Snowflake)
• Infrastructure mindset focused on building platforms others rely on
