📋 Description

• Join Upstart's Model Risk team to oversee risk across models and GenAI apps for Upstart Bank.
• Evaluate methodologies, data inputs, system designs, and performance to provide effective challenge
• Apply risk-based evaluation across traditional models to ML and GenAI systems.
• Document model risk assessments, monitoring, and analyses to support internal policies and
• Develop governance approaches for evolving ML/GenAI technologies and respond to external
• Translate complex concepts into clear information for audiences with varying technical expertise.

🎯 Requirements

• Master’s degree in quantitative field (finance, math, economics, statistics or related).
• 4+ years in model risk management, model governance, ML, data science, AI governance, or related
• Basic understanding of AI/ML methods (tree-based models, neural nets) and GenAI familiarity.
• Experience coding in R, Python, or Matlab.
• Strong communication, ability to adapt technical details for diverse audiences, proactive mindset.
• Advanced coding skills in R, Python, SQL; experience with Git.
