Role Overview

We are looking for a Principal Solutions Architect to join our Managed Services – Elastic Platform Operations (EPO) team. In this role, you will serve as a hands-on senior technical leader, owning the design, delivery, and continuous evolution of large-scale, cloud-native data platforms for global enterprise clients. Key Responsibilities

Client Delivery

• Own and drive the design, provisioning, and operationalization of cloud-native data solutions on AWS and Azure, leveraging platforms such as Snowflake, Fivetran, dbt, Matillion, Azure Data Factory, and other modern data stack technologies. design, provisioning, and operationalization of cloud-native

• Translate client business requirements into scalable, secure, and performant data platform architect ures aligned with phData methodologies and best practices.

• Ensure client engagements are delivered on time, within scope, and with measurable business value—managing multiple simultaneous customer accounts across a variety of technical stacks.

• Skillfully navigate complex customer environments by building and prioritizing Epics, Stories, and Tasks to mature and improve clients’ data platforms.

• Continually identify opportunities to automate, optimize, and expand clients’ data platform capabilities and phData’s service offering.

Collaboration & Leadership

• Lead technical teams operating and managing modern data platforms—spanning streaming, data lakes, analytics, and beyond—across a progressively evolving technical stack.

• Ensure high quality in all deliverables through code reviews, documentation, governance, and performance tuning.

• Partner with practice and account leaders to identify opportunities to expand engagements and standardize delivery patterns.

Practice & Firm Contribution

• Contribute to internal initiatives including IP develop ment, accelerators, delivery frameworks, and technical playbooks.

• Represent phData with professionalism in all client interactions, communicating clearly and effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including executive audiences.

Additional Responsibilities (Senior / Lead / Principal Roles)

• Act as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders, shaping data platform roadmaps, influencing strategic decisions, and guiding long-term initiatives.

• Mentor and coach engineers on the team, delegating effectively and fostering a culture of learning, feedback, and continuous improvement.

• Help define and refine practice standards, reusable assets, and delivery frameworks to scale phData’s managed services capability.

• Lead detailed technical presentations and architect ure recommendations for executive-level audiences.

You bring deep expertise in cloud data platforms, strong consulting instincts, and the presence and communication skills to engage confidently with clients at all levels of an organization.

Required Qualifications

Experience

• 10+ years of experience in data platform engineering, architect ure, or managed services, with significant hands-on experience in enterprise cloud environments. architect ure, or managed services, with significant hands-on experience in

Technical / Functional Skills

• Advanced expertise in enterprise cloud data platforms, including Snowflake, AWS, Azure, and/or Databricks.

• Extensive experience providing architect ural and operational guidance for cloud-native data warehouses (Snowflake and/or Redshift) across large user bases.

• Production experience with cloud and distributed data storage technologies such as S3, ADLS, Cassandra, or other NoSQL storage systems.

• Production experience with data integration technologies such as Spark, Kafka, event/streaming pipeline s, Matillion, Fivetran, HVR, AWS Data Migration Services, Azure Data Factory, or equivalent.

• Production experience with workflow management and orchestration tools such as Airflow, AWS Managed Airflow, or Luigi.

• Strong proficiency in SQL, including writing, debugging, and optimizing complex queries.

• Extensive experience with infrastructure as code using Terraform or CloudFormation.

• Experience building automated solutions for repetitive administrative tasks using Python or a similar language.

• Proficiency with CI/CD frameworks and tools such as Bitbucket, GitHub, Flyway, and Liquibase.

• Exceptional troubleshooting and performance tuning skills across complex, multi-stack environments.

Consulting / Delivery Skills

• Demonstrated experience delivering projects for external clients in a professional services or consulting environment.

• Ability to break down complex, multifaceted problems into structured, actionable steps and drive them to resolution across technical, business, and operational dimensions.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to create and deliver detailed technical presentations for executive audiences.

Collaboration & Ownership

• Proven experience as a technical team lead and mentor, with a track record of delegating effectively and develop ing engineering talent.

• Demonstrated ability to work effectively across distributed, cross-functional global teams.

• Proven track record of taking ownership of multiple priorities simultaneously, delivering high-quality outcomes with minimal supervision.

• Professional track record of creating, challenging, and improving processes and procedures in dynamic environments.

Education – If desired

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Snowflake SnowPro Core Certification or any Snowflake Advanced Certification.

• Hands-on experience with data visualization tools and exposure to data science or machine learning platform operations.

• Experience operating across multiple industry verticals or problem domains in a managed services or platform operations context.

• Prior experience working in global or remote teams, partnering across US, LATAM, and/or India time zones.

• Contributions to open source communities, technical writing, conference speaking, or internal accelerators are a plus.

Location & Time Zone Expectations

This role is based in India (Bangalore) and operates primarily in IST (Indian Standard Time), with expected overlap with US time zones to support client engagement and collaboration with global teams.

• We are a remote-first company, and you should be comfortable working with a distributed global team.

• Some flexibility may be required to collaborate across time zones with colleagues and clients, particularly for key project milestones, client workshops, or escalations.

• Client needs may occasionally require flexibility in working hours to support critical platform operations or delivery timelines.
